One Change is a not-for-profit organization based in Ottawa, Ontario and is launching its first provincial wide Fuel Efficiency Campaign. One Change is seeking an enthusiastic applicant for the position of Communications Coordinator.
Reporting to the Regional Manager, the Communications Coordinator provides leadership and support in the planning and implementation of the Campaign's communications strategy and outreach activities.
Duties & Responsibilities:
1. Provides administrative support to the campaign for all communications related activities
2. Drafts media releases, fact sheets, advertising copy and other materials necessary for the promotion of the campaign
3. Maintains and updates local campaign content on web site
4. Develops and delivers on media relations strategies for the campaign, including crafting media lines and messages
5. Provides strategies and materials to the media partner
6. Assists in the development and tracking of the communications
7. Monitors the communications strategy to improve external and internal communications
8. Prepare weekly reports on program activities
9. Communicates with outside service providers to ensure timely delivery of quality materials
10. Represent One Change at community events
11. Responds to information requests from staff, the media, volunteers, and the public
12. Serves as a key contact person for the campaign, and works closely with the communications team at Headquarters in Ottawa and campaign partners
13. Provides support with the planning and implementation of campaign events

Qualifications:
Education:
Post-secondary degree or diploma in Communications or another discipline relevant to this position and a minimum of 3 years experience in communications related activities
Experience:
* Demonstrated experience working with the media
* Experience in a complex, diverse, not-for-profit organization an asset
* An ability to learn, adapt and be innovative as new challenges arise
* Flexibility and ability to anticipate and respond to opportunities, challenges and demands
Skills:
* Excellent writing and editing skills
* Ability to anticipate and respond to opportunities and challenges
* Strong organizational skills and ability to multi-task
* Personable, with excellent interpersonal and verbal communication skills
* Highly motivated, creative, resourceful and a strategic thinker, with strong teamwork and relationship building skills
* Proficiency with MS Office software programs
