WHO WE ARE
Inside Education educates teachers and students about the current science and issues related to Alberta's environment and natural resources. We are a registered charity, guided by a Board of Directors, an operating budget of $1.5 million, and a full-time paid professional staff of 15 in education, communications and operations. In 2010, we were a national finalist for the Environmental Employer of the Year, recognizing excellence in human resource practices.
OPPORTUNITY
We are looking for a dependable anchor in our very busy office! As a close teammate to the Director, Business and Human Resources, you will work from our head office in Edmonton. You will coordinate the full accounting cycle and a complete set of financial books and records, and provide assistance to staff with budgets, and all accounting-related tasks. You will exercise your organizational and administrative skills, to manage the many details involved in running two offices. Your operational support makes it possible for others to function effectively in their roles.
You understand the importance of best practices. Your interpersonal, communication and computer skills are top notch. You contribute to the overall health of our organization by ensuring our financial resources are tracked and managed wisely, and that our daily operations run smoothly.
QUALIFICATIONS
* Post Secondary Education or progressively more responsible experience in accounting, administration, business or management. Demonstrated experience with Simply Accounting essential. Nonprofit experience or professional certification an asset.

* Resourcefulness -- you enjoy solving problems, creating efficiencies, and taking the initiative to make thoughtful improvements.
* Emotional Intelligence -- you recognize that work is complex and collaborative, and you demonstrate the personal qualities of a good friend, colleague and partner.
* Pre-Employment Conditions -- drivers license and abstract in good standing (vehicle not required); credit and criminal records background check.
SALARY AND BENEFITS
The compensation for this position is $46,000 per annum, based on a 36.25 hour work week.
