EMPLOYMENT OPPORTUNITY
Position: EAC Membership Canvass Coordinator (P/T)

ORGANIZATION
The Ecology Action Centre, established in 1971, is Nova Scotia's largest and most active environmental organization. We work on sustainable transportation, marine and coastal issues, wilderness issues, urban issues, sustainable food production and alternative energy.
Membership is an essential component of the Centre. Our members direct our work, support us and give us a mandate. EAC currently has approximately 1200 members. With this six week membership canvass we hope to increase our mandate and encourage more of our supporters to join.
RESPONSIBILITIES
* Report to and work with the Membership team
* Recruit, hire and manage a staff of 6-10 canvassers and provide regular reports
* Assist with training canvassers
* Prepare schedules, assign turf, check ins
* Participate in and support the overall work of the Ecology Action Centre
QUALIFICATIONS / SKILLS REQUIRED
* Experience training, managing and supervising staff
* Detail oriented and comfortable with administrative processes
* Available some evenings and weekends and willing to travel within HRM
* Knowledge of environmental issues an asset
* Experience working in nonprofit, volunteer-driven organizations
* Canvassing experience a definite asset
* Valid Nova Scotia driver's license and access to a vehicle an asset
* Experience with Microsoft Word, Excel, internet and email
TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT
Part-time ~ 15 hours per week @ $16.00/hr for 8 weeks (September -- October)
